Taxi! was a very popular radio series on Springbok Radio, the first season on Sunday evenings (1969 to 1972) and the second season on Monday evenings (1975 to 1978) - it focused on "the trials and tribulations of a New York taxi driver". It was produced by David Gooden, and written by Joe Stewardson, with George Korelin as Chuck, Tony Jay as Red, and Patricia Sauders as Mertyle.

In 1970 Killarney Film Studios made it into a feature film also titled Taxi! [1], written and directed by Stewardson, with the same three actors in the leading roles.
