The play debuted on Christmas Day, 1934. The plot concerns a lazy, middle-aged playwright who is spurred to write by his new young secretary.

Performance history in South Africa
1937: Presented by the Cape Town Repertory Theatre Society at the Little Theatre in August, directed by George Vollaire.
1941: George Vollaire produced Accent on Youth with the Pretoria Repertory Players.
1948: Produced by the Brian Brooke Company at the Hofmeyr Hall, Cape Town, starring Cynthia Klette and Leo Britt.
