A one-man show written by Basil Appollis. A retrospective of Richard Rive’s life and work, staged on the "last night of his life.

Subject

A retrospective of Richard Rive’s life and work as a novelist, scholar, international teacher and protester against apartheid. His works include Buckingham Palace, District Six, a novel which was adapted for the stage in 1989 shortly before he was murdered.

Translations and adaptations

Performance history in South Africa

Performed at the Grahamstown Festival in 1998 by Basil Appolis, directed by Nancy Diuguid. It was also staged at the Baxter Theatre later in 1998.
