Ugo Betti [1] (1892-1953). Betti was an Italian judge, better known as an author, who is considered by many the greatest Italian playwright next to Pirandello. He wrote Crime on Goat Island, The Burnt Flowerbed, The Queen and the Rebels, Summertime. Several of these plays were also translated into Afrikaans.
