According to Bosman (1928) it was also translated as De Listige Weduwe, of De Temperamenten or simply De Listige Weduwe.
Performance history in South Africa
1823: Produced in the Dutch translation by the amateur company Tot Nut en Vermaak on 2 August in the African Theatre, as afterpiece to De Militaire Stand (Arresto). According to Bosman, (1928:p.235) it appeared under the title De Listige Weduwe ("The devious widow").
1833: Performed in Dutch as De Listige Weduwe, of De Temperamenten by "Het Nieuw Stellenbossche Tooneel Gezelschap" ("The new Stellenbosch Theatre Company") Door Yver Vruchtbaar, in the Stellenbosch "Schouwburg" (theatre) on 26 October, with De Kluizenaar op Formentera (Von Kotzebue).
