Snake Beneath the Rose is a play written and created by Richard Haines, Janice Honeyman and Robert Whitehead.

The original text

The action of the play takes place in St. Petersburg, Paris, Buenos Aires, Madrid and St. Moritz between 1909 and 1950.

Directed by Janice Honeyman for a run produced by Pieter Toerien in 1986. Opened on 16 March at the Alhambra Theatre Johannesburg. Set and costumes designed by Johan Engels. Lighting by Jannie Swanepoel. Costume co-ordinator John Tullis. Choreography by Anton van Niekerk.
