Hayi S'bali, written by Steve Mnisi. A play about how households in the townships have to deal with alcoholism, drug abuse and abuse of women. According to the director's notes he uses theatre to communicate with God, his community and the wider world.
Performance history in South Africa
The author was selected to direct his play during the Barney Simon Young Directors and Playwrights Festival, 1998. It was staged in the Laager at the Market Theatre, directed by Steve Mnisi, with Sibusiso Busane, Peter Kananda, Ntmobenhle Langa, Ndleleni Nhlapo and Sibongile Nkuta.
