Noel Desmond Stockton (1930-). One of South Africa's foremost Jazz artists, as well as a highly prolific arranger, composer and pedagogue.

He is based in Bloemfontein. Noel is married to Jasmine Antonie.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He wrote music for the overture and prologue to Met Permissie Gesê (SUKOVS 1982). He composed, arranged or directed music for productions such as Grease, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, 'n Brommer in die Boord, Die Tragedie van Romeo en Juliet (PACOFS) and Snoopy!!! Sand Du Plessis Theatre, 1985.
He was invited by the Herb Alpert Music School, University of California, Los Angeles, to deliver a series of lectures and performances in 2012.
