Le Menteur ("The Liar"), a farcical play by Pierre Corneille.
Corneille's French text was based on La Verdad Sospechosa by the Spanish-American playwright Juan Ruíz de Alarcón, and was first performed at the Théâtre du Marais, Paris in 1644, and published in French in 1634.
It was the source of Samuel Foote's farce, The Liar.
