Gaëtan Schmid (19**- ) is a Belgian-born theatre artist who has worked in South Africa. He co-founded the theatre company Theatre Bazaar in Cape Town with Lara Bye.

Biography

Born in Belgium, he trained at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France. Afterwards he toured to festivals and theatres all over the world with his creations. Came to South African in 2000, settling in Cape Town.

Here he produces, creates, writes and performs his original one-man-shows , including Body Language, Rumpsteak, The Dog's Bollocks, The Incredible Beer Show, The Pigeon, The Comical Tragedy, Play with your Food, Clown Jewels (1 and 11), Lovborg's Women, Safari and Dracula: My Story

He has done a great deal of film, TV (e.g. Going Nowhere Slowly for SABC 3) and advertising work and has been involved in Industrial Theatre.
