His first real successes were as performer in ''The Christian'' (1907) and some fine performances in ''Romeo and Juliet''. Matheson Lang (Alexander Matheson) (1879-1948) [1]. Eminent actor-manager and dramatist.

Career

Born in Canada. He was educated at Inverness College and the University of St Andrews. He learnt his trade with Frank Benson, Lily Langtry and Ellen Terry. His first real successes were as performer in The Christian (1907) and some fine performances in Romeo and Juliet. Went on to make his name as a popular and prominent performer of Shakespeare and modern work in England.
