Johnn Buhr (19*-19*) Journalist and critic.

Studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where he was also correspndent for Die Burger. Later became a journalist with Die Burger in Cape Town. Wrote a series of weekly articles on the new professional theatre performers between 8 September 1926 and 15 January 1927 under the title "Agter die Gordyne" ("Behind the Curtains"), and based on travels he undertook with the De Groot-Hanekom Geselskap.

He translated Dorothy Brandon's 1920s play The Outsider into Afrikaans with the title Die Kwaksalwer.
