Son of Sybil Summers, he was born Geoffrey Eric Burmeister.
Among his qualifications are Honours Marketing at Wits Business School (1987 – 1989), and a certificate of Psychology in Business from the Metropolitan College London.

Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance
Partner in Sybil Summers Agency and owner of Theatrical Corporation of South Africa (Johannesburg & Cape Town: 1969 – 2011). This involved acting as the Publicist for all Ronnie Quibell's shows with overseas artists, for all Ster Films , for Hymie Udwin's Academy Theatre, as well as working for CAPAB and various overseas ballet companies as a props manager. Was head publicist for Marge Chase's Ice Shows. Publicist for the Rainbow Theatre in Rhodesia.
