Born on on 19 September 1958, she studied acting at the Akademie vir Dramakuns in Cape Town. She was married to film-maker Herman Binge (1953-2021). The couple had two children, of which the one, Ludwig Binge, is also an actor.

Her stage career has included performances in Die Uurwerk Kantel, (Woordfees, 2003), Eet Alles (Aardklop festival, 2004). Other productions include Susanna die Geliefde, Yerma, The Boy Friend, Op Dees Aarde, Jong Dames Dinamiet, Ou Blare, Susanna die geliefde, Drafstap of Drentel, Yerma, Die huis van Bernarda Alba, Op dees aarde, Ferreira, Braam en die Engel, Hortjies Dig. .
