Sophie Snyman was a Speech and Drama student at the University of Stellenbosch.

Biography

She studied at the University of Stellenbosch (1949-1951), one of her subjects being in Spraak, Voordrag en Verhoogkunde ("Speech, Recitation and Stagecraft").

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

While a third year student, she compiled very useful scrapbook of newspaper cuttings organised by theatre topics, probably as a project for the course. Dated 1951, it was found in the Stellenbosch Drama Department archives in 2022. Now held at the Africa Open Institute for Music, Research and Innovation, Stellenbosch. (See Oversized section of the collection).
