She was married and had 4 daughters. She died of cancer shortly before her 88th birthday in April 2010.

Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Her stage career included roles in a student prodution of Arms and the Man (1944) and in Die Narrekap and Sitroene uit Sicilië (circa 1948).
She became famous as the character “Tant Kriekie” in the first Afrikaans TV sit-com Nommer Asseblief (“Number Please” – first broadcast in 1979 and well into the early 1980s. Her performances include many other TV and film appearances (*) and she was still working late in her 80s.
