Not very much is known about this group at this stage. Their existence was uncovered in a photograph taken during the Liberty Cavalcade in Cape Town during the Second World War. Please help us if you can shed any more light on the unit.

The Union Defence Force created the Non-European Army Services on July 12, 1940 to recruit non-white South Africans into their ranks. It consisted of the Cape Corps, the Indian and Malay Corps, and the Native Labour Corps. The following month the name was changed to the [[Native Military Corps]].

The Union Defence Force created the Non-European Army Services on July 12, 1940 to recruit non-white South Africans into their ranks. It consisted of the Cape Corps, the Indian and Malay Corps, and the Native Labour Corps. The following month the name was changed to the Native Military Corps.
