She studied Theatre, Social Anthropology and African History.

Her main focus is on South African productions that are aimed creating social awareness and change.

In 1997 she created and produced The Story I am about to Tell, a play about survivors and families of human rights abuses. Other productions have been Flipping the Script (2007), Theatre on Trains (2011) and Frontières (2021),

She is the founder/director of the theatre company mehlo-maya (eye-to-the-sun).
