The Cygnet Theatre was theatre in Pietermaritzburg

The theatre

Founded and built in 1953 by the Natal Society Drama Group, through the efforts of Mr Donald Spencer, the group's chairman, and the members.

The theatre was opened on 20 October 1953 with a production of Man and Superman, produced by Mrs lan Fraser, wife of the Natal Society Council president from 1938-1946.
