Connie Chiume (1952- 2024) was a South African stage, film and television actress.

Biography

Born Connie Temweka Gabisile Chiume in Welkom in the Free State on 5 June 1952 – 6 August 2024)

She became a multi-award-winning actress who starred in several local and international films and TV shows. Chiume was also a motivational speaker, qualified teacher and chairperson for the Centre of Africa.

She passed away at the Garden City Hospital, Johannesburg, on 6 August, 2024.

Stage plays include: You Strike the Woman You Strike the Rock; Ipi Tombi (in the production which toured South Africa, Monte Carlo, USA and New Zealand); Porgy and Bess; Little Shop of Horrors, Somdaka.
