The original text
A farce about two couples on holiday in France who are accidentally assigned to the same hotel room.
First performed in 1973, the play ran in the West End for eighteen months, starring Terry Scott and June Whitfield. Since then it has played successfully all over the world.

Performance history in South Africa
1975: First staged in South Africa by Pieter Toerien with Terry Scott and June Whitfield at the Johannesburg Civic in 1975.
1989: Presented by the Arts Theatre Club at the Guild Theatre, directed by Colin Ward (September), starring Peter Gordon, Marius Scholtz, Alan Smith, Sharyn Jevon, Lynn Ogston, Mike Ormston and Mary-Ann du Preez. Choreography by Di Ruddick, set design by Geoff Bowker, lighting design by David Whitehouse.
