Inspirations-Toneelgroep (1957-1959)
Originally founded as ("Inspirations Theatre Group") by P.A Jacobs in 1957,
United Youth Crusaders (1960-1970)
The Inspirations-Toneelgroep changed its name to United Youth Crusaders in 1960.
Alpha Omega, Cape Town (1971-)
United Youth Crusaders in its turn became Alpha Omega in 1971.
Aims
The group's motto, throughout its career, has been is: Prestasie eis moed - oorwinning na die stryd ("Achievement demands courage - victory after the battle"). An interdenominational church group of young people, their intention was to uplift people through their plays and they performed regularly, concentrating on the northern suburbs of Cape Town, but also touring to other parts of the Western and Southern Cape at the request of various churches or church societies.
The work
They started their work in Elsiesriver and later moved to Nooitgedacht. Their many plays were all written by Jacobs and include such works as Pieter se Troue, In die skadu van die sipres, My belofte aan Mammie, Maak oop die graf van my moeder, Uurtjie van Lof (1985) and Oorlede Louw se bos (1985).
