Koffie en kondensmelk (“Coffee and Condensed Milk”) is an Afrikaans play by Melvin Whitebooi (1956–2011).
Contents
The original text
A play about apartheid in beauty competitions, and the absurdity of having a white Miss South Africa and a black Miss Africa South, it is based on the fact that it was not until the 1990s that all persons of all races were allowed to compete in a single Miss South Africa competition. Prior to that, people of colour competed in the Miss Africa South pageant, (renamed Miss Black South Africa in 1977).[1].
