Ford Evanson is an educator, actor and director.

Biography

Born in Seattle, spent his early adulthood in New York City and his maturing years in South Africa.

Evanson has a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Vassar College (1982 - 1986), a Master's degree in Performance Studies from New York University (1991 - 1993), a Master's diploma, in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University (2002 - 2003) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Cape Town (2018).

His film experience includes The Violent Garden (1990. A short film. Writer/director)[1] and The Daytrippers (1996, actor)[2].

He was married to actress Hope Davis (1987 - 1996, divorced)

Since January 2019 he has been an Cambridge High School English Educator at Generation Schools in Cape Town, and the Faculty of Education, University of Cape Town

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He was the dramaturg for the multidisciplinary piece Polis done at the National Arts Festival, Grahamstown, in 2012
