The original text
A satirical look at life in South Africa, the cabaret had a mock programme in which the audience is invited to what is described as "An evening of light entertainment. With the compliments of THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INFERIOR. On the occasion of your acquisition of Citizenship".

Performance history in South Africa
1987: The piece was first performed in The Arena theatre at the University of Cape Town, directed by Casper de Vries with himself, Melinda Ferguson, Leanne Goronovsky and Philip Moolman. Set design and construction by A. Samsodien, Christopher Hector and Peter Goliath, lighting design by Emile Aucamp, lighting operator Nicky Kench, sound recording by Colin Shaw, photography by Derek Bierman and programme and poster design by Stanley Hermans.
