The plays written by Marais, a number published in anthologies, include the one-act pieces: Boereraat en Brandewyn, Oupa Ben se Kat, Anglofobie, Die Jeug en die Daeraad is Vermetelheid, Advokaat Markus Antonius spring Riem! (translated into English as The Honourable Mark Anthony by Esté Pienaar), 'n Diender en 'n Daggaboom, Twee Sente vir 'n Pêrel.
