Irene Worth (1916-2002) [1]. American stage and screen actress who became one of the leading stars of the British and American theatre.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Co-head of the Old Vic Company which visited South Africa for a season of Shakespeare in 1952 during which she played "Desdemona" in Othello, "Lady Macbeth" and "Helena".
