Karoly Pinter (19*-) was a director


Biography

Hungarian-born but left Hungary in 1979 for political reasons.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

His first production in South Africa was Tango for NAPAC. He also directed Diary of a Madman (Gogol) in Cape Town, 1988, Tennessee Williams’s The Glass Menagerie (Johannesburg Civic, 1994), Habitual (2000), Ching Chong Che (2004), Report to an Academy (2009).

He wrote the play Cape Gooseberry.
