The original text
Agterplaas by Charles Fourie tells the story of a poor Afrikaans family struggling to keep its head above water.
Performance history in South Africa
2012: Staged at the US Woordfees, Stellenbosch, as a US Woordfees and Absa KKNK co-production presented by the Kaap Teater-ensemble, with text and direction by Charles Fourie, in the PJ Olivier Kunssentrum, on 5 and 6 March, on the Sanlam Dramafees programme. The cast was Deon Lotz, Deidré Wolhuter and Esther von Waltsleben. Age restriction: no under-14s.
2014: Adapted as a short film for the KykNET Silwerskermfees, directed by Charles Fourie, starring Deon Lotz, Deirdre Wolhuter and Esther von Waltsleben
2026: Serialised as a radio play for the Afrikaans radio station RSG
