''[[The Strong Are Lonely]]'' (original title in German ''Das heilige Experiment'' (1942-3)) is a play by Austrian playwright Fritz Hochwaelder [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_Hochw%C3%A4lder] (1911-1986), who wrote social and political dramas, using historical themes in his plays. ''The Strong Are Lonely'' drew on the violent dismantling of a utopian Jesuit settlement by the Spaniards in Paraguay in the 1760s.
