Liz Yates was an actress and festival director with PEMADS in Port Elizabeth.
Early Life
Born on December 8, 1945, in Dunfermline, Scotland. Her family came to South Africa in 1948 and she enrolled as a pupil at Jeppe Girl's High School where she first became involved in theatre. At first she painted sets and was generally involved in acting and backstage work and for about four years she was involved in one play per year. Her first job straight after school was with the Standard Bank for a couple of years before joining W. J. Greig on the Stock Exchange.
