Probably a member of one of the Cape Town dramatic societies, she played supporting roles for J.E.H. English (in 1858) and for Annie Rowlands (1858-9). She is specifically mentioned as "Marie (a Domestic)" in English's production of The Corsican Brothers (Grangé and De Montépin) on 21 September and 1 October, 1858.
