The Me Nobody Knows [1] is a workshopped musical, which grew out of the writings of two hundred children living in the ghettoes of New York.
Performance history in South Africa
1977: A Johannesburg version of the original, localised and directed by Benjy Francis and his cast, produced by The Company, was performed in the Market Theatre from 10 May 1977 with Nomsa Nene and Ruth Masilo in the cast. Other cast members were Leonie Hofmeyr, Leslie Mongezi, Barrie Shah, Jonathan Taylor. This production featured the first large-scale non-racial cast to appear in the Market Theatre complex.
