Julius J. Katzke (b. 24/11/1920 – d. 18/07/2006) was a cameraman.
Biography
Julius James Katzke was responsible for the photography of Die Skerpioen, the Afrikaans film based on the book by Hendrik Brand and directed by Arthur Bennett for Unifilms. He seems to have been a teacher, but at some stage he was the proprietor of a photographic studio in Boksburg. Later he returned to teaching, wrote a number of school textbooks and became the Vice-Chairman of the Transvaalse Onderwysersvereeninging. Die Skerpioen was his only known film credit of any kind. He was married twice, first to Margarethe Straeuli (1945) and then to Ria van der Merwe (1974).
