Sound may be designed for a theatre or cinema performance, but may not be limited to such.
Sound designer
A person whose responsibility it is to design sound for a film or stage production. He or she is considered part of the "production team", alongside the director, lighting designer, set designer, etc. The sound designer might also collaborate with others such as the set and lighting designers. In Afrikaans this person is called the Klankonwerper.
