His first play, it was  written during the early 1950s and first performed by the [[National Theatre Organization]] in 1959. The text was published in the collection ''[[Rooibruin Blare en Ander Eenakters]]'' by [[Afrikaanse Persboekhandel]] 1968 and in ''[[Losgoed]]'' by [[Perskor]] in 1974.
