Vergenoeg by Marita van der Vyver (1958-)* and Alexa Strachan (19**-)*

Vergenoeg ("far enough") is an Afrikaans South African drama, adapted by Alexa Strachan from the novel of the same name by Marita van der Vyver. A mother is dying; one daughter nurses her, with the help of some alcohol and a great deal of make-up. The human and timeless story is told with pathos and humour.

Performance history in South Africa

2011: Performed at the US Woordfees, Stellenbosch, in the Oude Libertas Amfiteater on 7 and 8 March, as part of the Sanlam Dramafees. Directed by André Odendaal, with Sandra Prinsloo, Milan Murray and Alexa Strachan. Age restriction: no under-14s.
