Born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 13 August 1903, and in 1936 married Christiaan de Wet Marais (1903–1972), a South African pharmacist, translator and an occasional actor she had met when they appeared in the Bloemfontein production of Joan Woutersz together in 1933.
She passed away on 21 December, 1941 in Braamfontein

In 1933 she played a lead role in the five act drama Joan Woutersz by the Dutch dramatist Hendrik Jan Schimmel (1823-1906), which was performed in the Grand Theatre in Bloemfontein in 1933 as part of the Orange Free State's contribution to the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the birth of William of Orange in the Netherlands.
There is no indication in the sources that she ever performed under her married name, or indeed much after her marriage.
