Biography

Training

Career

Louis's acting career started in 1976 in Mahlombala and he appeared in several Gibson Kente productions before moving to the Market Theatre, where he toured internationally with Woza Albert!.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

His work with the Market Theatre include productions such as Black and White Follies, Smallholding, Baby Come Duze, Lakutshon'ilanga, The Meeting.

For Handspring Puppet Company he performed the role of Woyzeck in Woyzeck on the Highveld and Johnson in Faustus in Africa! (1995) and in Ubu and the Truth Commission (1997).

His film credits include Mapantsula, Sarafina!, Friends, Taxi to Soweto, Going Back and Cry, the Beloved Country.
