This was the name under which the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department marketed its more prestigious productions in the earlier years, to distinguish major productions (starring staff members and professional actors alongside students) from smaller scale, student only, training productions.
This changed in the 1995, when the department ceased the practice of involving professional actors, and used students only. After this no distinction was made an all productions were billed as by the Departement Drama/ Drama Department.
