Nimrod Njabulo T. Ndebele (1913-2000). Playwright, writer and teacher.

Biography

Best known for his pioneering work in Zulu drama and his close friendship with artists Gerard Sekoto and Ernest Mancoba. He later earned a BA in Zulu language and political science from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Father of Njabulo Simakahle Ndebele.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Author of the first published Zulu play Ugubudele namazimuzimu (1941).
