Anthea van Jaarsveld (1966-) is a lecturer and researcher in literature, theatre, film and media.


Biography

Born in Durban, she went to school in Vryheid, then completed a BA Drama and Stage Craft at the University of the Orange Free State in 1986. This was followed by B.A. Honours in Linguistics and Literature (1988), an MA in Literature (1991) and a Ph.D. in 1995.

She teaches in the Department Afrikaans and Dutch, German and French at the University of the Free State and a primary focus of her research is theatre, television, and film.

Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance

She has published widely on theatre, film and TV in South Africa.
