First performed at the Royal Princess' Theatre, London in 22 October, 1855. Published by T.H. Lacy in London and by Charles H. Spencer in Boston in 1855.

1861: Performed by the Officers of the Regiment (North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot) as Don't Judge by Appearances in the Garrison Theatre, Grahamstown on 5, 11 and 19 April, with Urgent Private Affairs (Coyne) and A Night at Notting Hill (Yates and Harrington).
