As a member of the Oranjeklub, a youth group in Cape Town, she appeared in a number of productions, including Vrydag (a localised version of a Hungarian play) in 1929. As a member of Kaapstadse Afrikaanse Toneelvereniging, she performed in Rooibruin Blare (H.A. Fagan, 1934).
