Frank, de Gierigaard ("Frank the miser") is a Dutch drama in two parts by Arnold (Nicolaas Arnoldus Wijnstok, 1830-1878)[1].

The original text
Written for the Rederijkers, the only record found of a performance is an announcement of one by De Rederijkerskamer S.J. Van Den Bergh (under the motto : Vooruitgang zij ons doel, ie. "Progress is our aim") in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands, on 5 January 1866.

Performance history in South Africa
1869: First performed in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, by Aurora II on 4 August, with De Vriend Tegen Wil en Dank (A.A. van der Stempel).
