Rob van Vuuren (1976-). Actor, director, playwright, comedian.

Biography
Training
He completed his high schooling at Maritzburg College in 1993. He studied at Rhodes University Drama Department and completed his studies in 1997 graduating with an Honours Degree.
Career
As a student he was a member of the First Physical Theatre Company. With partners Bevan Cullinan and James Cairns they formed their own company specialising in its own brand of ludicrous comedy.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
A Cape Town based he has played Les in Bouncers and Robbie in Shopping and Fucking, both directed by Fred Abrahamse. He was seen in Birdy and Capgun. The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Baxter Theatre, 2001. Also in Die Toneelstuk at the KKNK Festival 2001.
With Francois Venter in The Most Amazing Show.
He performed his one-man show, Namaste Bae: Blessings and Kombucha at the National Arts Festival in 2023 and 2024.
Awards, etc
He has received various award nominations for his roles. Among these are a Fleur du Cap nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Beauty Queen of Leenane and a Vita nomination for Best Actor in Birdy. In 2011 and 2013 he won the Ovation Award (silver) for comedy.
