Starred in Jean Genet’s The Maids in 1993 and in East and Scenes from an Execution, Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, The Homosexual or the Difficulty of Expression (2004), Curl Up and Dye (2013), Battle! (1981), Score Me the Ages (1989), Six Degrees of Separation (1991), Ubu Roi (early 1990s).
Co-wrote Two Straight Queers in 1996. Workshopped, wrote and directed the jazzy gay musical After Nines in 1998. Co-author, with Matthew Krouse, of the political cabaret Famous Dead Man (1985) - for other plays on this theme see Tsafendas.
He directed Apartheid on Trial (1994), The Story I am about to Tell (1999), No Room for Squares with Coco Merckel (2000), Your Loving Simon (2003), Acropolis Cafe (2005).
Awards, etc
A winner in the Johannesburg Civic Theatre's New Stages project in the early 1990s, making his director’s debut with Afro-Dizzia.
