Founding
The Musicians Union of South Africa (MUSA) is a trade union in South Africa, established 1994 and based in Johannesburg. It has a membership of 700 and is affiliated with the Congress of South African Trade Unions.
Amalgamation
In 2007 it amalgamated with the Performing Arts Workers' Equity (PAWE)to form the Creative Workers Union of South Africa (CWUSA). This is a process that began in 2005 and culminated in a Launching Congress on 7-9 September 2007 in Johannesburg
