His theatrical repertoire includes the most respected playwrights and directors in Africa.

He had a role in Night of the Long Wake which was the opening production of the Dhlomo Theatre in 1983.

Other roles were in Wole Soyinka’s Death and the King’s Horseman (1992), Prophets in the Black Sky (1992), Julius Caesar (as Brutus, Windybrow, 1994).

He has also appeared on stage in Ifindo (1979), The Caucasian Chalk Circle (1986), Daughter of Nebo (1993), Nongogo (1994), The Piano Lesson (1996), The Captain’s Tiger: A Memoir for the Stage (1997 and 1998 and in Afrikaans as Die kaptein se tier in 2011), Milestones (1999), Stand in the Sun (1999), On My Birthday (2002), The Train Driver (2010), The Prize of Peace (2011).
