Wer Weiß, Wozu das Gut Ist ("Who knows what it is good for") is a German farce in one act by August Friedrich Ferdinand von Kotzebue (1761-1819)[1].

Translated into Dutch as Wie Weet Waarvoor Het Goed Is! by J.S. Van Esveldt Holtrop, published in Aalst, Belgium, by F. Sacré in 1815.

Performance history in South Africa

1843: Performed in Dutch as Wie Weet Waar Voor Het Goed Is? by Tot Nut en Vermaak, Cape Town, as on 14 July, with De Verzoening, of De Broedertwist (Von Kotzebue).
